Moscow Ready

(Denis Gagnon Blk & Purple Coyote Fur and Leather Coat)

(Denis Gagnon Fur Shawl Collar Leather Jacket)

(Denis Gagnon Leather Tunic with Detachable Fur )

In less than two weeks, our new Miss Universe China will be heading to Moscow, Russia, for a three week intense training camp for the Miss Universe pageant.  It's a very short period of time for the MUC team to prepare her for the event, from language skills to interview questions rehearsals.  Of course, from a far more practical side, we need to gear her up with multiple casual, cocktail and evening outfits...not forgetting accessories and makeup essentials.

Our Pageant Manager, and a close girlfriend of mine, will also be going for 9 days.  While it will be her first trip to Moscow, she has no intention to be out of her elements.  Just yesterday, she was asking me what should she be packing in her suitcase.  My first answer was obviously fur, fur and more fur!  But not in a full mink coat with matching mink hat, but rather fur accents to add texture to an outfit.

I really love Canadian designer Denis Gagnon's fall pieces, which integrates fur and leather in a modern and wearable way.  These furs are modern and luxurious without screaming logos, which is exactly how we want the MUC team to be perceived in front of Mr Donald Trump!

Itsy Bitsy Spider

I completely forgot that Halloween is only 2 weeks away...the time of the year again when I'm struggling in the final hours to find a creative outfit that doesn't look like a cheap Spiderman costume straight from Walmart (although those ones are also sold out!) for the kids.

Oh yeah, and something for myself (I hate to be the one showing up at a Halloween party without costume)!!!  Although I always manage to pull a decent look without spending too much, I came across this beautiful Jennifer Behr Swarovski crystal spider hair slide new in on NAP.  So tempting to "add to shopping bag" when I saw what it looks like once on!

But I know myself too well, I just rather spend that money on a new pair of boots for fall... :P

You must agree, the best fashion show is always the one on the streets of Fashion Weeks!

H&M X Isabel Marant Lookbook

What's even more exciting than Paris Fashion Week (ok, maybe not more but at least as exciting)?  Isabel Marant's collection for H&M!!!  And here's a first look at the official lookbook!  I'm so excited I can barely hold myself together!  All the best pieces from her past few seasons, including the instantly sold out beaded jacket from her 2010 collection (MUST GET MY HANDS ON THIS!).

And look who's modeling the looks: Milla Jovovich, Alek Wek, Lou Doillon and Malgosia Bela!  Talk about the must-have collection of the year!

And that's not it...she even made a few pieces for boys and girls!!!  Oh yeah, there's also a few looks for men, but I highly doubt that my hubby can't live without Marant in his closet (they way I do) so let's not waste time & money on him!

PFW SPRING '14 - Saint Laurent

(Saint Laurent Spring 2014)

BARCs (Bad Ass Rocker Chics) strutting down the catwalk of Saint Laurent's spring '14 show with black eyeliner and lots of attitude.  Hedi Slimane moved away from the 70's Boho Chic to the 80's Punk Elegance seamlessly this season.  And all that, with the same level of intensity.

I love the use of skinny tie & stiletto heels with high waisted masculine pantsuit; I love even more the "Material Girl" inspired dressed which reminds me of the good old days of Madonna.  And for a unconventional cocktail outfit, I would definitely choose the last look with elevated one-shoulder "lip" top, such a conversation piece!
